Two cheers for Amazon

It worked.

To Do Justice, my award-winning novel, was fighting an uphill battle until you guys started posting 5-star reviews on Amazon. Now, with 43 reviews posted, Amazon has reached out to me at last.

I got an email yesterday from one Daphne Adams, whose title is Amazon Author Liaison.

I'm confident Daphne is not a robot, and that she has at least read the blurbs if not the novel itself. For one thing, she lists a phone number with a Delaware area code. For another, there's her personal Amazon Kindle Network email address.

Here's some of what Daphne wrote:

Daphne goes on to offer a menu of services -- paid, I'm sure, but still. Amazon is the 800-ton gorilla. I'll be happy to throw it a few peanuts.

Daphne's No. 1 proposal is to "Collaborate with bloggers and book reviewers who love socially relevant fiction."

I think she's referring to what is called a "blog tour." I've already signed up for one of those, next week.

(The tour operator calls itself GoddessFish. I've wondered where the name came from but haven't asked. I don't want to rock the boat.)

I've been writing blog posts for the "tour, so this week has been busy. Next week surely will be busier still.

It's new to me though -- and I'm nervous. When the moment comes for the actual appearance, I don't know what will happen.

Hopefully I'll survive. But tune and find out.
